Also happening this weekend, Portland Canstruction at Pioneer Place Mall. Take your budding architects and interior designers to marvel at the structures Oregon’s top architecture, engineering, and construction firms have built from over 100,000 cans of food.  On display now thru Sunday.  Admission is free, canned food donations gladly accepted.  More details here.

Looking for lots of fun this weekend?  Have we got some ideas for you!  And, a few cool things from around the internet.

Storytime  at the NW Library.  From 10:15-10:45 kids aged 0-6 with their adult are welcome to stop in and hear a story.  Then at 11, catch a special preschool storytime for those 3-6 years old.  Visit the library’s site for a full event schedule.

Naked Ladies Party co-hosted by Urbanmamas and gDiapers.  On Friday, February 22 at 7:30 in the gDiapers space (2808 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97212) join other Portland moms for a mama’s night out of clothes swapping.  Here’s the details:

-Bring a bottle of vino or a snack to share. If you can’t bring a drink or snack, please bring a $5 donation.
- Bring as many clothes, shoes and accessories as you want to off-load. All sizes and maternity are encouraged! The chunk-o-change and the left over clothing will be donated to a local women’s charity.
-Leave kiddos at home, unless s/he is a babe in arms (or Mya or Moby or Ergo or just generally part of your outfit). This is a mama’s night out event and we want you to take a break!

Here’s a few of our favorite things we discovered this week!

This is one of the cutest jewelry boxes we have!  Decorated with owls, butterflies, trees, jems and sparkly stickers – it is so cute!  It’s big enough to hold even the glammest of girls jewelry collections.  And, you get to decorate it yourself!  Just follow the handy “sticker/ jewel by number” directions.

Portland_Family_NW_Childrens_Theater_SeussicalSeussical starts at the NW Children’s Theater!  This musical extravaganza takes you on an excellent adventure with The Cat in Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFizz and other timeless Seuss characters.  It’s guaranteed to be splendifferous!  The show runs Feb. 2nd (this Saturday!) thru March 3rd.  Click here for ticket details.

Free admission at the Chinese Garden!  To celebrate the new year, the garden is offering free admission from Saturday, January 5 through next Saturday, the 12th.  This is a wonderful oasis in the middle of the city.
